Murform has been contracted once again by clients Global Infrastructure to complete the construction of a new UV tank at their Ardersier wastewater treatment site close to the Moray Firth in Scotland.  Scottish Water who are delivering numerous improvements to the wastewater facilities in the region hopes that the enhancements will meet the needs of housing and economic growth in the area whilst protecting and improving the local environment.

For Murform’s initial part of the project, we are carrying out the formwork, rebar and concrete works for the construction of a UV tank measuring 14.7m x 4.2m and 3.4m high.  The new ultraviolet treatment will improve the quality of the water before it is safely returned to the sea.  The Scottish Environment Protection Agency require these works to be completed to improve the quality of the water to protect the bottlenose dolphins and other marine life in the Moray Firth.  Our works on the project will also include settlement tanks and aeration lanes that will follow in a later phase.
