Testimonials

Eric Wright Civil Engineering Ltd

Antony Mulligan, Contracts Manager

I’m pleased to say the new Clyde Bridge was opened this week and I just wanted to pass on thanks from myself and also from EWCE as a whole, for the big part Murform played in the delivery of the new Clyde Bridge. It was a new working relationship for us all, but one we felt went very well and we look forward to working together in the future.

SSE

Billy Jack, Project Manager

On behalf of SSE, can I just say how impressed we were with Murform. It was my first experience of working with them and they are without a doubt the best steel fixers I have ever seen. Congratulations to all concerned in bringing the foundations in nearly 6 months earlier than predicted by the Rev 1 programme.

Farrans

Charlie Miller, Senior Engineer

Farran’s Construction subcontracted reinforced concrete formwork specialist Murform Ltd to our project in Hanningfield to complete the concrete formwork and reinforcement for the base slabs and wall to the new pumping station and wash-water tanks that were required to enhance the performance of clean water supply in the Essex area. The two-year project, which began on site in August 2020, involved the design, construction, and commissioning of two new 1.25 Megalitre wash water tanks, a new pumping station and the refurbishment of the existing two wash water tanks and pumping station, Essex & Suffolk Water has doubled the capacity of its wash-water’ facility at Hanningfield Water Treatment Works (WTW), which will also help to protect the environment. Hanningfield WTW supports water supplies for up to 1.2 million customers as part of the company’s network. The new facility has been constructed by Essex & Suffolk Water’s partner, Farrans Construction & TES Group. The solution was developed by Stantec. Throughout the duration of the project Murform undertook all works involved with the placement of the formwork and reinforcement and were responsible for the delivery and pouring of all concrete. Works were kept to a consistent high standard throughout their time on the project. A keen and knowledgeable contractor with good practical understanding of concrete reinforcement and placement.

Story Contracting Ltd

David Hamilton, Senior Project Manager

From the outset of the Ravenscraig WCML Crossing project, Story and Murform worked collaboratively which allowed many benefits to the structure build and installation, including the permanent and temporary works. From Contracts Manager to site operatives, Murform operate efficiently and with an attention to detail which delivers a quality build where safety is paramount. Many thanks to Murform for helping deliver this record-breaking structure, a project that everyone at Story Contracting, Network Rail and North Lanarkshire Council are immensely proud of.

Stobart Developments

George Smith, Project Manager

Murform Ltd was contracted to work for Stobart Rail on the new link road at Southend Airport. From the outset I was impressed with the day-to-day hands-on approach of the company directors, which ensured superior quality workmanship throughout the build. Their site staff and supervisor were all polite, considerate, efficient and helpful, creating a good working environment for everyone. Murform Ltd had an excellent safety record on this project with their section of the works being completed entirely within our strict programme of works. In short, the expertise and overall commitment shown by all Murform’s staff contributed to the overall success of this project.

HWA Consulting

Giles Ward, Director

Murform have been helpful, friendly and accommodating whilst also being highly competent and professional. This was demonstrated on a project involving a substantial two-storey basement where the main contractor/client was unfamiliar with RC work on the scale required, ensuring that all went smoothly with minimal oversight.

Luddon Construction Ltd

Gordon Winning, Contract Manager

Murform were contracted to carry out formwork, reinforcement, placing and finishing of concrete for Luddon Construction Ltd at Dunfermline.   The Project was to construct the largest Dry Anaerobic Digestion Plant in the world for Fife Council.  This involved a high level of planning and coordination, to construct the 14 gas tight chambers, 8 aerated static pile composting bays, 4 pasteurisation tunnels and all associated floor slabs, soffits, percolate and waste tanks and reception hall. There was a high level of integrated drainage and heating loops in the floors, walls and soffits which tested the team’s coordination skills (and patience).  The commitment of the site team was commendable and this extended all the way to the directors who attended every weekly safety, coordination and design review meeting without fail.  Consistently, the site team offered buildable suggestions which helped achieve an extremely tight programme on this very technically challenging project.  They put a good team onto the project and were able to react to all aspects of increased labour requirements without sacrificing quality. I would recommend Murform for any RC Frame project, due to their commitment, safety performance, speed of execution, finish and vision.

Basebuild Services Ltd

Graham Duffy, Project Manager

Murforms “can do” approach to the project was very impressive and welcomed. The RC frame package was exceptionally well planned , managed and delivered by the Murform team who were committed to the scheme from day one. The result was the completion of the frame 2 weeks early, finished to a very high standard and most importantly maintaining high standards of Health and Safety. A first class performance.

BASE Contracts

Mark Wood,

Murform were excellent as a team and really got on well with the full site crew.   Knowing and working alongside the Murform Project team has also been a privilege. Over time I have had the pleasure of working with the team, and I have admired your reliability, professional approach and not forgetting the due care and attention to detail which also was outstanding, what a great team, thank you.

Roadbridge

Michael Gallagher, Contracts Manager

“It was their overall approach, commitment, performance and expertise given during the construction phase that was a major factor in allowing us to complete the scheme 10 months ahead of programme” “Murform built up an excellent and supportive working relationship with the Roadbridge staff and management team, brought the works in on budget, achieved programme target dates, had the ability to control works over a large site, completed works including all snagging as works progressed, had an excellent safety record and showed great attention to detail thus producing an excellent quality finish” “This excellent standard of finish was personally acknowledged by the National Road Authority aesthetic advisor during its handover stage”

Osborne

Noreen O’Sullivan, Quantity Surveyor

Murform worked with us on the concrete and formwork package for the concrete deck and abutments on Shoreham Harbour Footbridge. The project was carried out in a very challenging marine environment, with very difficult access and during a harsh winter. Murform were very committed and organised throughout the project and worked very well with the team, despite the difficult conditions. Throughout the works Murform’s approach was professional and proactive and their attitude to Health and Safety was very positive.

Farrans

Patrick Murray, Contracts Manager

I have worked with Murform over the past 3 years. Their ability to plan and execute work to the highest standard is clearly evident by the technically challenging work completed on the BAE IEI Project. Through clear and concise management of labour, plant and material we were able to reduce our contract programme by 2 months. The ease in which they deal with both on-site and off-site problems is very professional. They always have the clients end goal in mind and will adapt to suit where necessary Being able to provide a workforce that is employed by the contractor, in this case Murform, adds so many additional benefits. Most notably continuity of operatives and skilled labour. Having this consistently allowed my Project team to develop great working relationships with their teams and when problems arise they all dealt with it together to find a solution.

SIAC Construction

Richard Walsh, Structures Manager

“While working with SIAC Murform showed they had the ability to programme their work and resources accordingly, meeting all project milestones with quality workmanship. The Murform management and workforce were very health and safety conscious in their daily operations with a very good safety record” “The works were carried out very efficiently, to high level of quality and in a safe manner. Murform in fact bettered our programmed duration for these works on the majority of the bridges”

Luddon

Rob Fiedor, Project Manager

May I take this opportunity of commending the performance of your company Murform on the above project; the standard of work was first class and your site management team was of the highest calibre, very knowledgeable and experienced.  From a health and safety viewpoint I had absolutely no problems whatsoever with your team and any issues that arose were dealt with swiftly and amicably. I would recommend to anyone the standard of work produced by Murform and hope one day to work with you again.

RJ McLeod

Ryan Maclean, Agent

Having worked with Murform on a number of different projects for the last decade, I have always been delighted with the professionalism and attitude shown.  Most recently at Viking Energy Wind Farm in Shetland, the works produced on site managed to stay ahead of a tight programme while also demonstrating high regard for safety, environmental and quality standards.  Given the constraints of working on a remote island, the flexibility was invaluable to achieving our goals. I would have no hesitation in recommending Murform and look forward to working with them again in future projects.
