Formwork contractors Murform are currently working on this new biowaste processing plant for Luddon Construction. Our work consists of fermenter tanks, percolation area, slab work and tunnel heating building. The fermenters are gas-tight structures with 5m high walls and concrete roof slabs, which require ventilation and heating pipes to be cast in during construction. The overall programme is very tight and we are liaising with H A O’Neill who are providing the mechanical and engineering works for the project. Once complete the new plant should be able to process over 40,000 tonnes of segregated biowaste a year and will also seek to produce biogas for energy use.
