We’ve recently completed the construction of a precast railway bridge in Moy Inverness. These works form part of the A9 dualling project for our clients BAM Nuttall and Network Rail. A site adjacent to the replacement bridge was used for the construction phase, and during a weekend railway line possession in November, BAM will demolish the old stone bridge and carefully transport the new 700t portal frame using SPMT trailers to the new location. This method of off-site construction means closures to the railway network are kept to an absolute minimum and disruption times are greatly reduced. We have also constructed 7 precast wing walls along the entrance to the replacement structure, which will be positioned using large cranes.
