Great Yarmouth Marina Centre

Works have recently started at the new Marina Centre on the Golden Mile in Great Yarmouth. This exciting new state-of-the-art complex will provide a wide variety of community sports and leisure facilities.
The building will feature a six-lane 25m pool with full disabled access and seating for 120 spectators, a confidence water area and learner pool with a moveable floor, fun play features including flumes and splash pad as well as full changing facilities. Also, a 100-station health and fitness gym, multi-purpose sports hall, indoor climbing zone, and café as well as ample on-site car parking.
Murform will carry out the construction of all in-situ concrete, formwork and reinforcement works to the building which will involve the following:
- In-situ Undercroft Basement.
- In-situ Pad Foundations.
- Casting in holding down bolt assemblies for structural steel frame of which will be installed by others.
- Approximately 1,000m² of in-situ concrete basement and pool in-situ slabs.
- Approximately 3,828m² of in-situ concrete ground floor slab.
- Approximately 2,400m² of first floor in-situ concrete slab and roof poured on metal decking with the decking installed by another contractor.
- In-situ concrete Walls & Columns to undercroft basement and pools.
The total Reinforcement will be approximately 540 tonnes with mesh in approximately 2,400m² of first floor/roof slabs.
The new Marina Centre is scheduled to open in summer 2022.
