We have been on-site at the Oldhall EFW in Irvine for Story Contracting for the past 12 months, completing the concrete construction components, substructure pits, bases and slabs, and now supporting all the ancillary FRC and precast elements to the bunker and tipping hall buildings. This includes complex bespoke moulds from SF Formwork to crane rail corbels at +28m from ground level, which also required clever hanging platforms by Doka, to avoid the need for scaffolding down to ground level.
We also installed all precast units to +10m and +23m floors. EFCO supported us in constructing the infill beams using their unique hanging beam formwork (falsework and edge formwork in one!) We are now progressing with the +12m beam, tipping chutes, drop beams and 7m walls to the tipping hall at the rear of the bunker.
A challenging but immensely rewarding project to be involved in!
