Dorenell Wind Farm, Moray

The Dorenell Wind Farm on the Glenfiddich Estate in Moray is one of the largest onshore wind farms in Scotland. This 59-turbine site with an installed capacity of 177MW produces enough clean, renewable electricity for 106,000 homes. Clients Morrison Construction employed formwork contractors Murform to complete the  steel fixing and concrete works for each of the 59 turbine bases at the site for EDF Renewables.

A particularly harsh Scottish winter enforced a three-month break during the project but the team worked consistently and placed 28,500m³ of concrete, fixed 3,350 tonnes of rebar and set the turbine bolts in place for all 59 bases to deliver this project for our valued clients.

The Dorenell Wind Farm has been fully operational since December 2018.
