Construction of a new modern 220m long footbridge, spanning Shoreham harbour between the town centre and beachfront and replacing the earlier narrow footbridge built in the 1920s.
In constructing the new footbridge, we used reinforced in-situ concrete to create a modern and wider crossing specifically designed for pedestrians and cyclists. The new bridge also features sleek glass balustrades that will improve the views from the bridge for all users whilst enabling them to access more of their local areas by foot or on bike.
The public gained access to the newly constructed footbridge in November 2013, and it received its official designation as The Adur Ferry Bridge.
