Working on behalf of Global Infrastructure Murform have been contracted to complete various works at the Stronelairg Wind Farm Substation site situated South East of Fort Augustus for main client SSE.  The location of the site posed quite a challenge for our operatives, 640m above sea level and 16km from the nearest main road meant that bunk cabins were required to house them during the week to avoid the lengthy commute.

Murform will be carrying out extensive works on this project.  The formwork, rebar and concrete works for the main building basement chamber, 60 foundation bases and ground beams and also 3 bunds.

The Stronelairg Wind Farm is expected to be finished in 2018 and will have an installed capacity of around 225MW.
