We are pleased to be working for new client Balfour Beatty on the construction of the Thurso South Substation. The project is part of a wider scheme to strengthen the high voltage network in Caithness which involves replacing and upgrading the existing 132kV overhead line with new higher capacity infrastructure between the substations at Dounreay, Thurso and Mybster. The increased network capacity will facilitate the transmission of renewable generation projects north of Beauly including onshore and offshore wind, marine and tidal generation.
