Winchburgh Marina

The Winchburgh Development situated to the west of Edinburgh is one of the largest placemaking projects currently underway in the UK. This exciting project will deliver over 3,000 new homes, schools, employment facilities, transport links, and outdoor spaces.

Our scope of works for the project is the construction of the marina, access bridge, and footbridge adjacent to the Union canal. The marina is 71m by 44m wide which will become a berthing home for canal boats. An access bridge will also be constructed over the entranceway to the canal, which has featured angled wing walls around a central turning circle, abutments will then be constructed for a footbridge over the existing canal. Due to the close proximity of the works to the canal, it had to be dammed for the winter whilst we carried out the construction of the tie-ins and turning circle.
